An Invite from Shaunna Mireau.

I identify as a law librarian. That is always the beginning of a conversation about what I did when I was a full time worker and the career that I have now in my hydra-retired state.

I often overheard people in my law firm organization describe their projects and thought, “I should be working on that with them.” Sometimes I would jump in and participate – that is my personality. At the end of my law firm career I was not practicing as a law librarian. Still, CALL/ACBD continued (as it does today) to be personally relevant to me.

More and more often, members of CALL/ACBD, and those who I wish were members, are doing things that may not seem to be the job of a law librarian.

Is this you? Are you working on things that, when identifying as a law librarian, are not your job? This is a forum for people who are applying librarian skills in non-traditional environments. People like Business Analysts, UX experts, people who are exploring emerging technologies or helping organizations manage data. Let’s talk about our broad CALL/ACBD tent and how we can help each other and support each other in doing things that are not really our job. Especially if they are really your job but aren’t traditional law librarian roles.

Thanks to CALL/ACBD for offering the Association Zoom account to facilitate sharing for any kind of Legal Information Specialists. Thanks to my cohost, Wendy Reynolds, for this meetup.
