The CALL 2023 social tours will take place on Sunday, May 28th and there are options for all interests.

Most tours will start well after the end of the morning pre-conference workshop.

Les visites sociales CALL/ACBD 2023 auront lieu le dimanche 28 mai. Il y a des options pour tous les intérêts.

La plupart des visites commenceront bien après la fin de l'atelier pré-conférence du matin.

CEMETERY WALKS
PROMENADES DANS LES CIMETIÈRES

1:30pm-2:30pm | 13h30 à 14h30

Cemetery Walk - The tour includes a history of the cemetery and the importance of the grounds during the war of 1812. It also includes a history of the city of Hamilton, and some prominent people buried there who have ties with important times in history. The tour will begin at 1:30pm and will last approximately one hour. Transportation will be provided.

Promenade au cimetière -La visite comprend l’historique du cimetière et l'importance des terrains pendant la guerre de 1812, en plus de l’historique de la ville de Hamilton et de certaines personnalités enterrées ayant marqué des moments historiques. La visite débutera à 13h30 et sera d’une durée approximative d’une heure. Le transport est inclus.

Royal Botanical Garden – Our green thumb members won’t want to miss a tour (or three) of the extensive botanical gardens at RBG. These are self-guided tours, running from 1:00pm-2:30pm, and transportation will be provided. The RBG is open from 10am to 5pm.

Art Gallery of Hamilton – The gallery is right across the street from the Sheraton Hamilton hotel, so a visit couldn’t be easier! Guided tours will be available from 2:00-3:00pm, or conference attendees can do their own self-directed visit of the exhibits and collections.

Les participant.e.s à la conférence pourront aussi visiter les expositions et les collections de la galerie, par eux-mêmes, sans guide.

Whitehern Historic House – History buffs will want to see one of the finest examples of an intact historic home in Canada during a guided tour with a costumed interpreter. Three generations of the McQuesten family lived at Whitehern from 1852 until 1968. The tour will run from 10:00am-11:00am, and Whitehern is within walking distance of the hotel.

La maison historique – Les amateur/trice.s d'histoire voudront voir l'une des plus belles maisons historiques au Canada, demeurée intacte et ce, lors d'une visite guidée avec un.e interprète costumé. Trois générations de la famille McQuesten ont vécu à Whitehern de 1852 à 1968. La visite se déroulera de 10h00 à 11h00. Whitehern se trouve à distance de marche de l'hôtel.
